THE ARTS

Vivace Chamber Music Concerts Vivace offers outstanding classical concert programs for our Temple family and the community at large. The four events each year are on a Saturday or a Sunday at 8 pm Check out Vivace's webpage at www.vivaceseries.org.

The Birmingham Temple Holiday Gift Show

The prestigious Temple Art Fair is a major fundraiser and an opportunity for the Temple to showcase outstanding local and national talent on Friday to Sunday in the first week of November.

Reading Circle

This congenial group of Temple members Wednesday of the month at 7:30 pm for stimulating discussion of some great literature.

Jewish Ensemble Theater (JET) Group

The JET group brings together Temple members for dinner and theater. Temple members enjoy a lively discussion and desert together following each performance.




      CLUBS AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES
Temple Retreat

In March or April forty to hundred temple members meet from Friday afternoon to Sunday noon in a pleasant Canadian hotel for friendship, stimulating workshop discussions, and entertainment. This event also provides an excellent opportunity for new members to connect with the Temple family.

Gathering of Men and Family of Women

Groups of eight to twelve men or women friends meet monthly in each other’s homes to discuss relationships and other common issues.

Intermarriage Workshop

This workshop under the guidance of Rabbi Tamara Kolton provides an opportunity to exchange experiences and to share insights on how to create a loving home.

Bridge Club

Young, middle aged and older members meet occasionally on a few week-end evenings to enjoy each other’s company and form friendships across the generation gap.

Dinner Club

Five times a year, Temple members gather at each other’s homes to share dinner. This is an opportunity to get to know each other in circles of 8-10 people.

Memoir Writers

The group meets on several Saturday mornings to enjoy and discuss each other’s stories. We stimulate each other to write new memoirs for the next events.

PALS (People at Leisure on Shabbat)

On several Saturday mornings senior members of the Temple have fun in discussing contemporary and personal issues. Professional Women’s Group

Working women meet to gain support and insight from one another.

Bereavement Group

Support is provided to those who have recently lost a loved one.

Inner Path Circle

The Inner Path is a forum to explore spirituality and transcendence in a Humanistic setting. The Inner Path meets one Sunday per month from 11 am – 12:30 pm.

Social Action and Community Service

We participate in Habitat for Humanity and in book drives and volunteer at Yad Ezra, and take stands on current issues.

Young Couples Club

The young couples group meets once a month to foster friendship and ties amongst themselves. Join us for a BBQ, beach party, discussion on parenting, or other event planned by the members of the group.
